November 13, 1979 – formerly known as Ron Artest was born. Metta World Peace, which is meant to inspire and bring kids together, was born in Queensbridge – “say Queensbridge!” He gets his rough basketball style from his childhood days hooping in rough neighborhoods. In 91′, he witnessed a fellow basketball player get stabbed and murdered with a broken table leg during a hoop tourney. He was named 04′ NBA Defensive Player of the Year. He brings toughness and a “no backing down” mentality to the purple and gold.
