DJ’s have been known to recreate, mash, sample, and mix music to make their own sound. In the film Re:Generation Music Project, 6 very talented DJ’s from different genres all get paired with a genre that is out of their comfort zone. Other than working with a genre that isn’t familiar they will also be working with live artist and instrumentation as opposed to records and beat machines. The 6 DJ’s are Mark Ronson, Skrillex, DJ Premier, Pretty Lights, and The Crystal Method (Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland). Each of these DJ’s will be accompanied by other artists in the lab to hopefully take music somewhere it’s never been before. The Dap Kings, Mos Def, and Leann Rimes are just a few of the artists featured in the movie. Check out the trailer below I promise there are more surprises.
