May 24, 1941 – Robert Allen Zimmerman, better known as Bob Dylan, was born in Duluth, Minnesota and has been a worldwide musical figure for five decades! He began popularizing folk music and has since spanned out to rock, blues, country and gospel. He is known for his guitar and harmonica combination, but also plays the keyboards. His songs did more than just bring thousands of people to rock, tracks such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin’,” became soundtracks to civil rights and anti-war movements. In April of this year, President Obama awarded Bob Dylan with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He is simply a pioneer of music.
Happy Birthday Bob Dylan!
