Best Coast has struck a nerve in the industry. They’ve brought back good and solid song writing to rock n’ roll with a California flare. The rock duo led by Bethany Cosentino & Bobby Bruno had certainly outdone themselves with their first album “Crazy For You” in 2011, but now the California tag team has just dropped “The Only Place” the eagerly awaited 2nd LP. “The Only Place” is an ode to their beloved state of California. Even the lyrics in the song praise the West coast, “Why would you live anywhere else? We got the ocean, got the babes. Got the sun, got the waves. This is the only place for me”. Bethany Cosentino also speaks of her own personal struggles in her song “How They Want Me To Be”, speaking on how people even her lover’s friends view her and their expections. Each song is it’s own theme for this upcoming summer season. Not only will you find songs to cruise down PCH with, but also the slow love ballad to curl up with in front of the bonfire. Also, if you’re going to get this LP, you should definitely get it on vinyl. The sounds from the instruments really flourish through the speakers (Not to mention the kick ass free digital download it comes with!)
