
June 20, 1949 – Lionel Richie was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and is a singer, songwriter, record producer, breast cancer activist and occasional actor. His music career began in the late 60s as a singer and saxophonist for the Motown music group, the Commodores. The Commodores started as a supporting act for the legendary Jackson 5 before establishing themselves as a popular soul music group. After the Commodores, Richie and his piano/keyboard ventured into a solo career, where he also bloomed with tracks such as “Hello,” “Truly,” “Easy,” “Stuck on You” and “Ain’t No Mountain Hogh Enough.” Richie is also the father of fashion guru, Nicole Richie. #HelloIsItMeYoureLookingFor
