Her hunger and stage presence helped pave the way for many female artists today. She began as a Laker cheerleader, which led to being a choreographer and eventually to becoming a Grammy winning pop icon. She can now be seen as a judge on the television show, The X Factor.
June 19, 1978 – Zoe Saldana was born in Passaic, New Jersey and is of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent. As a child, she was in love with dancing, training in ballet, jazz and Latin modern dance. Her dancing led to theater plays, which led to her successful acting career. She rose to prominence in the film Center Stage. Since then, she has starred in blockbuster hits such as Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean and Colombiana.
