The coming of the Nike Air Yeezy II was chaotic all over the world! Sneakerheads waiting hours, even days, to get their hands on one of the most demanded and anticipated kicks ever. As for me, I got steez, but not much of a sneaker freak. Maybe because my wallet doesn’t allow it. However, since we were in Vegas last weekend, my brother JC, told the crew to join a raffle giveaway of the Yeezys being held by the Footlocker House of Hoops at the Fashion Show Mall. It was held on June 8th, so by now I thought the raffle was over. However, Friday morning, the 15th, I checked my email and received a letter from Footlocker saying that the initial winner did not claim the kicks (big ups to whoever didn’t claim them), so they re-raffled and I was chosen! So now I had until 7pm on the 16th, to claim them in Vegas. Not knowing the magnitude of these kicks, my homies urged me to go get em’! So the spontaneous bone in my body began twitching and I found myself going on a solo drive mission down the 15 freeway at 8:30am on Saturday morning! Not sure why I went solo, but the peaceful drive was much needed. When I got to the store, they treated me like I was Kanye himself, killin’ me with the “sirs” and continuous congratulatory greetings. After the transaction was made, I felt the instant urge to keep it in a safe place, since the whole store including the customers knew I possessed a pair of golden bricks called the Yeezys. I went straight to the ride and made sure it was secured. A part of me, wanted to slang them right away and use the money as my buy-in to the World Series of Poker but then this blog would be even longer. Instead I headed to Aloha Kitchen and had a one-man party to celebrate the acquisition. That was probably the best Loco Moco and Spam Musubi I’ve ever had! After that, without gambling, drinking and other Vegas vices I used to partake in, I was happily ready to head back to LA because I felt like the biggest winner! #YeezyTaughtMe
