July 27, 1975 – Alex Rodriguez aka A-Rod, was born in Washington Heights in New York City and is of Dominican descent. He is currently the All-Star third baseman for the New York Yankees. A-Rod is regarded as one of the best all-around players in baseball history. Some of his highest milestones include being the youngest to ever reach 500 and 600 homeruns, being the leader in most 100-RBI seasons with 14 and being the all-time leader in homeruns by a player of Hispanic descent!
