The Master is the new film from Director Paul Thomas Anderson. Anderson has given us such classics as Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and There Will Be Blood; the latter has won Academy Awards for Best Achievement in Directing, Best Motion Picture of the Year, and Best Adapted Screenplay. The Master follows the life of post-war military man (Joaquin Phoenix) as he finds his way back into the world. Joaquin’s character meets a charming writer (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and he becomes something of a mentor to the sea man. Things start to get sticky when the writer starts to exhibit cult like tendencies.
