September 27, 1982 – Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, was born and raised in Hollygrove in New Orleans, Louisiana. He started rapping at the age of nine as a member of Cash Money Records. Before going solo, he was part of The B.G.’z and the Hot Boys. From there he went solo and really started making noise in the rap game with his series of “Tha Carter” albums. His numerous mixtapes also solidified him as one of the illest emcees in the game.
